Operator Board Roles

About the company

The company provides an integrated underwater infrastructure inspection solution combining proprietary robotics hardware, advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and a SaaS analytics/reporting platform. Its system is designed to replace diver-led or off-the-shelf ROV inspections with safer, faster, and more standardized asset intelligence for critical infrastructure. Target verticals include ports & terminals, offshore energy (incl. wind), downstream O&G, process industries, and public infrastructure such as dams and bridges.

The company has validated commercial traction across multiple geographies and has established a European footprint through deployments in the Netherlands and Belgium. With traction now building in the Nordics, the next phase is to scale market penetration in Europe by expanding the operator network beyond the Nordics - near-term needs include 1–2 operators for the UK (commercial + partnership development) and ~4 operators with strong market access and execution capability across Southern Europe. The company recently strengthened its financial base with a $12M primary funding round (Dec 2025), enabling faster European expansion and commercialization.

About OPERATORS Collective

We equip founders with the right expertise, structure, and aligned capital by bringing OPERATORS, board members, and investors together into one coordinated way of working. It’s a professional, incentive-aligned concept designed to increase the success rate of industrial technology companies. Joining this role means becoming part of OPERATORS Collective’s active operator network, with access to future high-quality opportunities across the portfolio.

  • Engagement type

Operator role (~10-20 hours per month, flexible)

    Location

Europe focus (location flexible; priority coverage: UK + Southern Europe, plus Nordics coordination)

    The Role

We are looking for Commercial & GTM Operators (UK + Southern Europe coverage) to take hands-on roles in scaling a serious, engineering-led underwater inspection + data platform.

The technology is proven in the field, early European deployments exist, and the challenge now is turning technical readiness and early traction into repeatable commercial adoption across the right buyer types and market pathways (ports & terminals, offshore energy incl. wind, downstream O&G, process industries, and public infrastructure such as dams/bridges).

This role is for operators who understand how infrastructure buyers really work: how procurement, HSE/technical validation, framework agreements, and local execution partners interact - and how to move from single-site engagements to repeatable multi-site programs and scalable commercial outcomes.

You will work closely with the founder team and OPERATORS to shape GTM strategy, prioritize target segments and accounts, structure pilot-to-scale pathways, and build commercial momentum where the company has the strongest technical and economic advantage.

This is a senior operator role measured by real commercial progress and repeatable market penetration, not activity or transactional selling.

    Key Responsibilities

Drive commercial adoption across prioritized European segments (UK + Southern Europe, with Nordics coordination)

Convert early traction (Nordics + NL/BE learnings) into repeatable GTM pathways

Help prioritize where the company can scale with minimal incremental product work

Structure pilots and early commercial offers with clear ROI logic and procurement readiness

Navigate complex stakeholder environments (technical, HSE, procurement, operations, executive) with discipline and credibility

Build and activate operator/partner coverage that accelerates local execution and customer conversion

Work with founders + OPERATORS to sequence GTM focus and pipeline development over time

    Minimum Requirements (Must-Have)

Established, relevant network in European infrastructure / maritime / energy / industrial buyer ecosystems, with access to decision-makers (port authorities/operators, offshore operators, industrial asset owners, utilities, engineering leaders, procurement)

Access to key persons with underwater infrastructure inspection responsibilities.

Proven ability to leverage existing relationships to progress commercial discussions and convert into pilots/contracts

Strong understanding of enterprise/industrial buying, including long sales cycles, tendering/procurement dynamics, and trust-based selling

Experience operating in complex, conservative organizations where credibility and risk management matter

Ability to operate independently in a high-accountability operator role, with clear ownership of outcomes

Comfortable working across technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders

Ability to support market entry in UK and/or Southern Europe (local access and execution capability)

    Strong Advantages (Nice-to-Have)

Network spanning multiple parts of the value chain (owners/operators, EPCs, engineering consultants, inspection/survey partners, regulators)

Experience scaling from single-site inspection projects to multi-site programs and recurring contracts

Exposure to underwater inspection, NDT, robotics, asset integrity, or critical infrastructure compliance contexts

Track record of working with early-stage or growth-stage industrial tech where GTM structure was still evolving

Experience collaborating closely with founders and small senior teams in high-trust settings

    Time & Incentives

Time commitment: ~10–20 hours per month

    Compensation:

Success-based upside linked to commercial milestones (structure aligned through OPERATORS Collective)

Potential co-invest/re-invest option depending on structure and role scope

(Exact structure aligned through OPERATORS Collective.)

This Role Is Not For You If

You prefer purely advisory roles without ownership of outcomes

You are uncomfortable operating in ambiguity at an early stage

You expect GTM playbooks, collateral, and segmentation to already be fully defined

    Summary

This role is for experienced industrial/commercial operators who want to help scale real deeptech in critical infrastructure, working at the intersection of technical credibility, local market access, and early-stage execution - with meaningful ownership and impact.
